Carol Rooney Hosting Appellate Costs Cle Teleconference

September 20, 2016

Litigating a case through trial and appeal can be very expensive for clients. Obtaining an award of appellate costs is a means to recoup some of those costs. However, an award of appellate costs is not automatic and requires some effort by the appellate practitioner. Carol Rooney, a Board Certified Appellate Specialist from Butler Weihmuller Katz & Craig, discussed how to obtain an award of appellate costs, steps the appellate practitioner must take, and what appellate costs can be recovered. She also addressed issues such as prevailing on a cross-appeal but losing most of the issues in the main appeal.
