Nasp 2017 Conference – Hiding In Plain Sight: Finding Recoveries In Claims Where It Might Not Be So Obvious

November 5, 2017

Hobie Hind from Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig along with co-presenter Justin Debenedectis , presented in Austin, TX at the NASP 2017 Conference on the topic of “Hiding in Plain Sight:  Finding Recoveries in Claims Where It Might Not Be So Obvious”.

Many claims in the Subro Universe are obvious.  This presentation did not address those situations.  Instead, this presentation talked about some not so obvious situations which can lead to recoveries, and how to properly set up those claims and budget for those claims.  Some claims will be a function of identification (i.e. Brasscraft), some claims will be a function of cooperation amongst carriers and counsel (i.e. Wildfires) and some claims will be a function of good old fashioned ingenuity (finding a breach of contract, where tort fails you).  We also addressed some common claim situations which seem like great cases, only to turn into an expense boondoggle.
