Aimee Nielsen is a Senior Associate at Butler Weihmuller Katz and Craig. Her practice focuses on Arson and Fraud, Casualty Defense Litigation, Construction and Product Liability.
Aimee is originally from Iowa. She attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota on an NCAA Track and Field/Cross-Country scholarship and received a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice (minoring in Spanish) in 2006. As an NCAA athlete for the University Aimee was a cross-county All-American and a five-time conference champion in distances ranging from the mile to the 6k, and the first female cross-county conference champion for the school. She was additionally a part of school record setting 4×800 and distance medley relay teams in track and field. After law school, Aimee trained professionally as a runner in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Aimee attended the University of South Dakota School of Law and received her Juris Doctorate in 2009. In law school Aimee was involved in Women in Law and the Innocence Project of South Dakota. She also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, New York where she obtained an Associates in Applied Science in Fashion Design and Art in 2019.
She is admitted to practice in Florida (2012), the District of Columbia (2013), the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (2013), and the U.S. Federal Courts of the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
Aimee litigates on behalf of individuals, public, and private companies and has experience in the following areas: complex liability, general liability, wrongful death/catastrophic accidents, insurance, bad faith, construction, product liability, professional liability, subrogation, property, and intellectual property related to entertainment, sports, art and design.
Aimee’s prior experience extends to both the state and federal levels, which includes receiving a prestigious award from the White House. She has obtained favorable resolutions on behalf of multiple Fortune 500 Companies, individuals, and insurance carriers.
