Benoy K. Sanil is an Associate at Butler’s Tampa office. Benoy defends insurance companies in the areas of First-Party Property Coverage and Extra-Contractual Claims. These lawsuits often involve claims of water, fire, storm, or sinkhole damage at residential or commercial properties.
Benoy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from Florida State University with a Certificate in Leadership Studies. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he served on the Board of Advocates and competed in trial advocacy competitions around the country.
Prior to law school, Mr. Sanil interned with a national civil rights firm based in Tallahassee. While in law school, he interned for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Louisiana Department of Revenue. During law school, he also clerked for the Honorable Judge Donald R. Johnson in the 19th Judicial District Court of Louisiana and Magistrate Judge Richard L. Bourgeois, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Before entering his final year, Mr. Sanil served as a legal intern for the United States Army JAG Corps under the 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, Texas.
Before joining Butler, Benoy worked at a comprehensive insurance defense firm specializing in defending in the areas of Premises Negligence, Automobile Negligence, and Negligent Security.
