A Partner at Butler, Christopher M. Ramey practices in our Arson and Fraud, Coverage Defense, and Extra-Contractual Claims Departments. His cases cover issues including complex first-party property coverage, bad faith, and insurance fraud relating to commercial and residential properties. Chris is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and listed as a Super Lawyers Rising Star by Thomson Reuters. 

Chris’ practice mainly focuses on property losses related to windstorms, fire, sinkholes, theft, and other catastrophic perils. He is experienced in defending extra-contractual claims, including first-party bad-faith actions.  Chris frequently litigates complex first-party property coverage and extra-contractual matters and has experience doing so in Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana courts. 

Chris is admitted to practice in all Florida courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. He has extensive experience in multi-week trials in Florida state court, Florida federal court, and Louisiana, and has appellate experience in Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. 

Chris joined the firm shortly after earning his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law in 2007. While in law school, Chris served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Richard B. Orfinger at the Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach, Florida, and also attended the University of Oxford in the Summer of 2006. Chris received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Florida in 2004.
