Joe Steadman is an Associate in Butler’s Chicago office practicing in First Party Coverage matters.
Joe was a night student at the Temple University Beasley School of Law while working full-time at a litigation firm in Philadelphia. He focused his studies on trial advocacy, earning a Trial Advocacy Certificate and serving as a teaching assistant in the trial advocacy program. He also participated in Temple’s Federal Judicial Honors Program and served as the Managing Editor of Temple’s International and Comparative Law Journal. Joe graduated law school cum laude.
After law school, he served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for U.S. District Judge John Gallagher and U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy Rice. He also served as a law clerk to the Hon. Nancy Ridgway of the New Jersey Superior Court-Atlantic County.
Before law school, Joe was a legislative aide in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.
Joe graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and political science, and a minor in business. He is fluent in French, having studied abroad at the Université Rennes 2 and the Université de Strasbourg.
A native of the southwest side of Chicago, Joe is a member of the St. Ignatius Law Society and the Chicago Architecture Center.
