Lateshia has spent the last eight years of her career defending insurance companies, along with general civil litigation, since leaving the public practice as Senior Attorney of the State of Florida Department of Children and Families in 2016. She has represented clients in civil proceedings in a wide range of litigation and casualty contexts pertaining to third-party insurance litigation, slip and fall, premise liability, bad faith & extra-contractual litigation, automobile liability, and wrongful death litigation.
Lateshia attended the University of Miami as a scholar-athlete, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology in 2009. She then attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2012. She has been honored as “The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch” in 2021. Over her 9+ years of practice, she has also litigated on behalf of individuals and public and private companies in various other fields, including breach of contracts, fraud, employment disputes, and criminal defense. Lateshia was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Lateshia enjoys spending time amongst family, including NFL Dalvin and James Cook. She loves exploring South Florida and traveling with her husband, Olympic Tennis Player and Lynn University Tennis Coach, and their two children.
When she is not representing clients, Lateshia is amongst the top few all-time women high-level poker players. She is known for her radical plays in high-level cash games or battling top players in World Poker Tour events – finishing 47th out of 1,982 in the 2022 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship.
