Melissa Rodriguez

Melissa Rodriguez is an attorney in Butler’s Tampa Office assisting with first-party property coverage claims. She litigates in state and federal courts and is admitted to practice in Florida and the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern districts of Florida.

Born and raised in Buffalo, she received her Associate’s Degree in Individual Studies from Jamestown Community College in 2015. Melissa then received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New York at Fredonia in 2017. Melissa’s initial passion for the law came during her time at SUNY Fredonia when she had the opportunity to intern with the Law Offices of Michael Robert Cerrie and compete as a member of Fredonia’s Mock Trial Team.

After graduating, Melissa made the move to the Sunshine State and began working as a legal assistant at a personal injury law firm in Gainesville. From there, Melissa received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Stetson University College of Law in 2023. During her time at Stetson, she continued to hone her skills in litigation and advocacy while on Stetson’s Dispute Resolution Board and #1 ranked Trial Team.

Outside of her legal practice, Melissa enjoys relaxing on the beach, traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her dog Gatsby. Melissa is also fluent in Spanish.
