Nishant Patel is an Associate in Butler’s Tampa office, practicing in First-Party and Third-Party Coverage. He attended Rutgers University for his undergraduate degree and later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, School of Law.
Prior to joining Butler, Nishant worked at a law firm concentrating his practice on Personal Injury Protection (PIP)/No-Fault litigation. He has significant experience defending depositions of litigation adjusters and corporate representatives, conducting depositions of insureds’, expert witnesses, and Plaintiff’s corporate representative. He has conducted numerous examinations under oaths. Nishant has prepared and argued a vast array of pleadings, including pre-trial motions, discovery motions, and substantive motions as it relates to Personal Injury Protection.
Nishant has handled personal injury, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation cases from the inception of each case. Nishant is a former certified legal intern for the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office where he participated and conducted evidentiary hearings and trials, presented opening and closing arguments for a number of cases, and defended criminal cases in the felony division, from inception to trial phase of each case.
Nishant served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Lester Langer where he attended hearings on motions for civil cases and mortgage foreclosure cases and researched procedural and substantive issues regarding foreclosure law. Nishant has interned for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and researched substantive and procedural issues dealing with criminal law including search and seizure, Miranda rights, and police identification/lineup issues.
