Samuel Lewis

Samuel Lewis is Of Counsel in Butler’s Miami office.

Samuel was born in New York, NY, and grew up in New Jersey and Florida. He attended the University of Florida and received his Bachelor of Arts in 1979 and his Juris Doctor in 1983. While in law school, Sam’s article on Extending U.S. Jurisdiction Beyond International Limits was published in the Yale International Law Journal.

He is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Courts. Sam began practicing in Miami shortly after law school and rose to partner in a well-known insurance defense firm. He has litigated premise/liability claims, including hotel, large retail, commercial parking facilities, and construction-related claims.

Sam has also represented law firms and accounting firms in malpractice proceedings. He has tried in excess of 100 jury trials and is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell.
