Disciplined in Sophisticated Defense and Insurance Litigation

Juliana Cortes is an Associate in the Tampa office and practices First-Party Property Coverage.

Juliana graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and continued on to earn her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Before becoming an attorney, Juliana worked as a vocational evaluator, and later on as a family assessment specialist at the Miami Dade County Drug Court. After working at Drug Court, she went on to graduate from the night program at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law. While in law school, Juliana worked for the Puerto Rico Department of Health and clerked for a firm that specialized in medical and health law in Puerto Rico. During the last two years of her law school studies, she clerked for the law firm that represented the government of Puerto Rico. Juliana was also a member of the Immigration Practice of the Legal Aid Clinic of the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law. Prior to joining Butler, Juliana practiced Employment Law in Tampa.

Juliana is passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion, and mental health awareness in the community. She is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
