Clark Schirle from Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig along with co-presenters John O’Leary and Thomas Tesoriero presented in Newport, RI at LEA’s 86th Spring & Education Conference on the topic of “Investigating and Managing Major Marine Structure Claims” on June 7, 2017.
Claims involving marine structures, such as docks, present unique challenges. The presentation provided an overview of the issues claims handlers and adjusters face when dealing with a marine structure loss. It explained and illustrated, in detail, how these types of structures are constructed. They discussed the type of losses that marine structures experience, as well as the investigative tools experts, use to determine the scope and causes of these types of losses. They elaborated on the coverage issues that may arise. They also examined how these types of losses are investigated, analyzed, adjusted and resolved.
