Taylor Ellis

Taylor E. Ellis is a Senior Associate at Butler in the Tampa Office and practices in the area of construction defect litigation. His practice focuses on the defense of claims against general contractors as well as subcontractors related to construction of residential and commercial properties. Taylor is licensed in Florida state court, the Middle and Southern District Florida District Courts, and in Washington, D.C.

He began his legal career serving as an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orange County, Florida. Taylor began working in civil practice as an Associate at a boutique construction firm in Tampa. Before joining the firm, Taylor was an Associate with two national defense firms focusing on first-party property, fraud and bad faith claims.

Taylor was born and raised in Tampa and earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida in 2012. He earned his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida in 2015. During law school Taylor was involved in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program assisting members of the community with preparing and filing their tax returns. Taylor received book awards for earning the highest grades in both his Construction Law class as well as in Motions and Depositions.
