Travis Harvey

Travis Harvey is a Senior Associate in Butler’s Tampa office. His practice primarily focuses on defending first-party property insurance coverage and extra-contractual matters relating to residential and commercial insurance contracts, including risks associated with inland marine and builder’s risk policies.

Travis has extensive experience aiding carriers with commercial and residential claims involving damaged property and business interruption due to hurricanes, earth movement, faulty workmanship or defect, fire, floods, and theft filed by businesses, developers, condominium associations, homeowners, and jewelers.

Travis received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2004 and a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law with honors from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2006. Before joining the firm, Travis focused on representing corporate and individual clients in civil litigation in state and federal courts throughout the State of Florida. Previous experience includes the litigation of contractual disputes, title issues, creditors’ rights for unsecured/secured transactions, state and federal consumer protection laws, real property law, condominium law, and first- and third-party property insurance disputes.

Travis believes it is imperative that attorneys take the opportunity to communicate timely and effectively with clients, striving to understand the needs of the client. He approaches representation with a client-first approach, focusing on practical, solution-based resolutions tailored to the particular claim.

Travis is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and litigates cases in State Court and each of the three Federal District Courts.
