Dyson Recalls Bladeless Portable Electric Heaters Due to Fire Hazard

The information below is a recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) announcing a recall of Bladeless Portable Electric Heaters. Specific model numbers for the recalled product are listed on the CPSC website. Dyson has announced a voluntary recall of its bladeless portable electric heaters. Dyson has received 82 incidents of heaters short-circuiting and overheating including 4 reports of heaters with burned or melted internal parts. No injuries or property damage have been reported. The portable electric heaters can develop an electrical short and overheat, posing a fire hazard. The recall involves Dyson Hot heaters, model number AM04 and Dyson Hot+Cold heaters, model number AM05. Model numbers can be located above the Dyson logo on the underside of the heater’s base. The involved bladeless portable electrical heaters were sold at various stores nationwide from September 2011 to March 2014 for about $399.
