Gree Recalls 12 Brands of Dehumidifiers Due to Serious Fire and Burn Hazards

The link below is a recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) announcing a recall of Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima Dehumidifiers. Specific model numbers for the recalled product are listed on the CPSC website. Gree has announced a voluntary recall of 12 brands of dehumidifiers. More than $2 million in property damage has been reported. The recall involves the 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50, 65 and 70-pint dehumidifiers with brand names Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima. Model numbers are printed on the back, front and side of the unit.

This recall presents a potential avenue of recovery about which subrogation professionals should be aware of when evaluating residential and commercial losses.
