Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander – In A Class Of Her Own

Tampa attorneys Dericka Burke and Naomi Robertson recently presented a “lunch and learn” about Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander for our entire law firm: Sadie Alexander was the first African American to obtain a Ph.D. in Economics. She was also the first African American woman to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Law, as well as the first to pass the Pennsylvania bar exam. Ms. Alexander was an accomplished lawyer, a civil rights activist, and a leading lecturer on economics.
Professor Joseline Hardrick from Western Michigan University’s Cooley Law School attended the presentation in her capacity as founder of the Journey to Esquire program. Jessica Sivillo from the Cooley Law School and Logan Jackson from Stetson University’s College of Law also joined us.
