NASP’s 12th Annual Conference, being held November 7-10 at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine, Texas IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. Can you believe it is less than two months away?!?! The Grapevine is a world-class facility located just outside Dallas. Just like in years past, this year’s Conference will be a topnotch showcase for some of the best educational presentations the industry has to offer, no matter what the forum. There is no greater array of educational programs than the NASP Annual Conference. The entire program for the conference has been selected, and we have tried to limit the number of presentations slightly from year’s past so that every attendee has a better chance of attending all of the programs they want, and not having too many “conflicting” presentations to decide upon.

We expect a large turnout of over 1,000 subrogation professionals, all coming together to share their knowledge, to network amongst each other to broaden their business horizons, and, most importantly, to develop friendships that will last for years to come. The advance registrations are well ahead of last year’s pace. Every year seems to be just a little bit better than the one before it, and we expect this year to follow that path. This year, we are making sure the focus of every track and every presentation is geared towards what the subrogation industry as a whole can literally take back to their desks with them from the Conference, to do their jobs a little bit better than they could before they arrived at the Gaylord on November 7.

We have also tried to create new presentations that have not been seen before, all with an eye towards that goal – How will this 75 minute presentation help me do my job better? We want every single person at the Conference to say “Wow..that really helps me!” And if you do not feel like it did help you, we want to know from you after the conference what we can do better. That is why we are tweaking our Wednesday program a bit. Stay tuned for more details on that!

If you have never been to a Gaylord Resort before, you are definitely in for a treat!! We have probably never had better meeting facilities for our presentations. You will see for yourself when you arrive, but rest assured, you will be impressed and amazed! The facility itself is awe-inspiring. There are many fantastic restaurants located on-site, across several genres of culinary delights! The workout facility is great. Everything is within easy walking distance within the facility. The receptions and get-togethers that will be held every night of the Conference should be a lot of fan. And just being near one of America’s great cities – Dallas – will provide so many fin-filled and exciting opportunities to those who schedule some time to venture off-campus.

You will find registering for this year’s Conference to be very easy; just log-on to www.subrogation.org. Attendees will also be able to access information that you will find useful for the Conference, such as speakers’ biographies and an outline of each session. These outlines will be available for 30 days after the Conference as well for your convenience and reference. Attendees will also have access to several computer stations at the Conference, which will provide online access. In addition, in keeping with last year’s feedback, we will be continuing to offer the sessions in 75 minute blocks. This will allow you and the speakers to really “get into” the depths of the subject matter, making for a truly detailed educational experience.

You have probably sensed (if you have ever been to an Annual Conference) that this event is 100% about YOU. If we, the Conference Committee, do not do our jobs, it is YOU who suffer, and we do not want that to ever happen. As you get ready for the Conference, please feel free to email the Conference co-chairs, Jon Thornton (jonthornton@westfieldgrp.com) and Hobie Hind (hhind@buder.com) any questions or issues you want, so we can continue to make the NASP Annual Conference the best event of the year. We also want to encourage every company involved in NASP to support the Annual Conference as much as they can – John Foster (our President) put it best last year when he spoke to the group and said “Every single dollar you invest in NASP comes back to your company several times over in better recoveries or better allocation of expenses, directly from things the attendees take back with them to their desks.” So, on top of being a fun event shared with friends and colleagues, NASP is the best investment in YOU that there is. We really look forward to seeing you in Grapevine in November!
