3M Recalls Filtrete Room Air Purifiers Due to Fire Hazards

The information below is a recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) announcing a recall of 3M Filtrete Room Air Purifiers. Specific model numbers for the recalled product are listed on the CPSC website. 3M has announced a voluntary recall of Filtrete Room Air Purifiers. The ion generator in the air purifiers can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The recall involves the Filtrete Ultra Quiet, model number FAPoo-RS and Filtrete Maximum Allergen, model number FAPoo-L found on the bottom of the product. The involved 3M Filtrete Air Purifiers were sold exclusively at Lowe’s stores. 

This recall presents a potential avenue of recovery about which subrogation professionals should be aware when evaluating losses.
