Caroline Whang is an Associate Attorney in Butler’s Chicago office, focusing her practice in the First-Party Property Coverage group. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois. Caroline’s primary focus is first party property claims and related coverage litigation, representing insurers in complex commercial claims and personal lines claims.

Prior to joining Butler, Caroline worked for an insurance defense firm handling complex coverage litigation for environmental long-tail and premises liability claims. In this role, Caroline represented insurance carriers, municipalities, and individuals in Illinois state and federal court.

During law school at the DePaul University College of Law, Caroline represented DePaul on the Mock Trial team and was a regional finalist at the American Association for Justice competition. She represented an indigent client appealing his criminal conviction through the DePaul Criminal Appeals clinic with the supervision of the Illinois Appellate Defenders Office. Caroline also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jeremy C. Daniel in the Northern District of Illinois.
