Kimberly Matot

Kimberly Matot graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Eckerd College and Omicron Delta Kappa before earning her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. During her years at Stetson Law, Kimberly was a proud member of the Stetson Ambassadors. She was even awarded the Stetson Ambassador Spirit Award in 2003 for her dedication and passion to Stetson University College of Law.

Kimberly is admitted to practice before all state courts of Florida and the U.S. Middle District of Florida. As a Senior Associate in our Tampa, Florida office, Kimberly focuses on representing insurers in various first-party property coverage issues and extra-contractual “bad faith” issues.

She previously represented individuals in third-party negligence actions for automobile and premises liability claims. Kimberly has additionally represented individuals faced with high-exposure automobile pre-suit claims and insurance companies facing personal injury protection and glass claims. Initially an Assistant State Attorney in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, Kimberly prosecuted thousands of cases ranging from second-degree misdemeanors to first-degree felonies with multiple enhancements.

Kimberly’s blended background of criminal prosecution and defense and civil litigation prosecution and defense assists her in evaluating cases to develop unique resolution methods. Through the years, Kimberly has tried over twenty-five cases to a jury verdict and over one hundred cases to a bench verdict.

Kimberly returns to Stetson Law annually to volunteer with various competitions, such as the National Pretrial Competition hosted by Stetson University College of Law. In addition, Kimberly is actively involved in the J. Clifford Cheatwood Inn of Court, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the West Pasco Bar Association.
