Subrogation Attorney (Philadelphia)

Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig LLP – a nationally recognized, AV-rated civil litigation firm – is seeking a talented attorney to join our Philadelphia office in our Subrogation practice group. This dynamic team handles complex large loss subrogation/recovery claims at all stages, including pre-suit analysis/negotiation and litigation.

We offer a competitive compensation package and robust benefits.  Base salary plus non-discretionary bonuses available up to $36k per year.

Butler offers a flexible hybrid schedule, combining remote and in-office work.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience (which may include subrogation, construction defect, product defect, and/or negligence claims)who is eager to grow in a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and respond to urgent matters effectively
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Litigation of subrogation claims, including conducting depositions, drafting of pleadings and motions, mediations, pre-trial proceedings, etc.
    • Reviewing property insurance claims to determine liability, identify potential subrogation opportunities, and assess feasibility of recovery.
    • Conducting thorough investigations to determine liability, negligence, and causation factors in property-related incidents and claims.
    • Compiling and maintaining detailed records, evidence, and documentation related to subrogation cases, such as incident reports, witness statements, and photographs.
    • Collaboration with insurance claims teams, policyholders, and others as needed to facilitate subrogation efforts
    • Engaging in negotiation and settlement discussions.
    • Generating reports and providing regular updates on the status of subrogation cases to clients.
