The Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a statement on its website warning consumers about the possible fire hazards of EVERCROSS EV5 Hoverboards being sold on Amazon. According to their statement, the CPSC has received reports of a fire that has caused substantial property damage to a residential building in New York City. The CPSC urges consumers to take proper precautions, immediately remove the battery packs from the hoverboards, and dispose of them appropriately.
EVERCROSS has not currently issued a recall on its product. However, Subrogation professionals should be aware of this issue.
