Flushmate Recalls Flushmate III Pressure Assisted Flushing System Due to Impact and Laceration Hazards

The information below is a recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announcing a recall of dehumidifiers. Specific model numbers for the recalled product are listed on the CPSC website. This recall involves 35-, 50- and 70-pint dehumidifiers with a Kenmore logo on the front of the unit, manufactured between 2003 and 2005. The dehumidifier can overheat, smoke, melt and catch on fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. CPSC has received 107 reports of incidents, with more than $7 million in property damage and three reports of smoke inhalation injuries. 

This recall presents a potential avenue of recovery about which subrogation professionals should be aware when evaluating losses.
