GPU Adapters, Grass Trimmers, and Lighters Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

February 9, 2024

The Consumer Safety Product Commission (CSPC) has recalled the items listed below. All subrogation professionals should make a note of these recalls. Visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission website for additional information on the recall.

CableMod’s 12VHPWR Angled Adapters (versions V1.0 and V1.1) are being recalled due to a risk associated with the adapters’ male connectors. These connectors may become loose, overheat, and potentially melt into the graphics processing unit (GPU), posing fire and burn hazards.

Slim Soft and Slim Jet disposable lighters imported by VPR Brands are subject to recall. These lighters lack child-resistant features and have not undergone federal regulatory tests for child resistance. The absence of such safety measures means that young children under five years old could potentially ignite the lighters, leading to fire and burn risks.

Husqvarna Grass Trimmers, including models 330LK, 130C, and 130L, powered by gas, are also under recall. Faulty wiring within the ignition module of these trimmers may cause electrical sparking or arcing, posing a fire hazard if gas is in proximity to the unit.
