In the ideal world, claims are reported promptly after the storm event, allowing an investigation to obtain the best available evidence of any property damage caused by the storm. Unfortunately, claims are sometimes reported significantly after the event, limiting the amount of information that can be reasonably obtained. This panel will walk through some proven strategies to effectively address hurricane-related late notice claims, including the critical component of when the insured knew of the damage or should have reasonably known of the damage.
