Partner John Garaffa presented on a panel at the American Bar Association (“ABA”) Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section’s Hot Topics in the World of Insurance CLE program on April 13-14, 2021.

John’s session, “Covid Claim – Where We Are and Where We are Going”, took place on Tuesday, April 13, at 12:00 noon.  The panelists discussed the myriad pandemic-related coverage issues, including what constitutes “direct physical loss or damage;” the potential applicability of virus exclusions, “loss of use” exclusions, and “loss of market” exclusions, as well as causation and valuation issues. They also addressed new exclusions in the market regarding losses arising from communicable diseases.
